Right on the outskirts of Triberg you can already hear them and soon see them: the Triberg Waterfalls. They are the most important and highest waterfalls in Germany and the main attraction in Triberg.
Seven main waterfalls make up the Gutach River waterfalls with a vertical drop of 163 m. The waterfalls are particularly impressive after heavy rainfall or when the snow has melted leading to plenty of water.
Three signposted trails lead along the individual falls, the Nature trail, the Cultural trail and the Cascades trail. You can admire the falls on each of these trails and learn interesting facts about animals, plants and other features of the waterfall area on information boards. The ionised air along the falls helps cure colds and respiratory problems.
