In the Black Forest, which is characterized by alpine terrain, every biker will find tours for the family as well as challenging trails for athletic riders at altitudes between 500 and 1,495 meters. This incomparably diverse landscape has developed into a first-class destination for mountain bikers in recent years. Around 80 kilometers of forest and hiking trails open up this highest German low mountain range at almost 1,500 meters.

Easy cycling fun in the Black Forest
The Upper Black Forest was the first holiday destination in Germany to introduce e-bikes across the board. There is a network of rental and battery charging stations throughout the region. One of these is located near the Vier Jahreszeiten hotel on Schluchsee lake!
For anyone who wants unrestricted mobility and to actively experience the Black Forest, the electric motor means that cycling up mountains on an e-bike is no longer a problem. Headwinds and inclines can be conquered with ease. However, an electric bike with a battery is not a moped that takes all the physical effort away from the rider. Operating modern e-bikes is very simple:
switch on, get on, ride off, and enjoy!
The motor assists pedaling up to a maximum speed of 25 km/h (range at least 30 km). Riding an e-bike feels completely different to riding a conventional bike. You get healthy exercise, protect your leg joints, and avoid overloading your muscles and cardiovascular system.
There is a rental station at the train station, approx. 1.5 km from the Vier Jahreszeiten. Maps and tour suggestions are available on site. Battery replacement is free at many stations.
Good to know: once the battery is empty, most e-bikes ride almost like a normal bicycle. So you can always get back to the hotel.
