3Seenbahn - Steam for the Black Forest Historic train rides

The 3 Lakes Railway Through the Black
Forest by steam locomotive

The 3 Lakes Railway is a museum steam train in the Black Forest, named after the three lakes Schluchsee, Windgfällweiher, and Titisee, which are located directly next to the train route. Train rides are usually available under the motto "Summer Steam" on weekends from July to September and as "Winter Steam" on selected dates in December. Seebrugg station is only a 3 km walk from the hotel.

To the timetable

railway romance Passion connects

The IG 3 Seenbahn is an association of members of all ages – from schoolchildren to pensioners – who share a love of railways. The association does not yet have its own steam locomotive, but rents them from other railway associations. This often results in changing, but always authentic, train sets – a welcome change for railway fans who travel frequently on the 3 Seenbahn.

Bringing history to life Seebrugg
Museum Railway Station

Seebrugg station is special for a number of reasons. Firstly, there is its location on the edge of Lake Schluchsee, surrounded by the picturesque landscape of the Black Forest. Secondly, it is rare for a station and all its facilities to still be in the same condition as they were in the 1950s and so well preserved.
When the station was due to be demolished in 2008, the IG 3 Seenbahn association was founded with the aim of preserving the station, renovating the facilities, and establishing a museum railway with authentic trains.

In addition, the IG 3 Seenbahn is currently developing a concept for the further development of the entire station site with the aim of establishing an open-air museum.
