Chumba Lama – a life full of action
Chumba Lama was born in Nepal in 1972, high up in the Himalayas. His life journey took him through many lows. His mother was very poor, so she asked an uncle to take care of her son. Unfortunately, the sudden death of his uncle brought this journey to a tragic end, leaving Chumba to fend for himself as a street child in the capital city of Kathmandu at the age of seven. Eventually, Buddhist monks took him into a monastery, where he found a home and received an intensive education. His teacher was the yogi Shamar Rinpoche, whom Chumba was privileged to serve personally for many years. He also met high Tibetan masters and Indian yogis – Guru Acharia, Sai Baba, and Baba Ramdev. They initiated Chumba into spiritual knowledge, taught him yoga practices, and, above all, how to breathe correctly.
To this day, Chumba continues to be deeply influenced by this special spiritual training and considers his path to be a blessing and a great fortune. Chumba now lives with his family in the Allgäu region of Germany and shares his knowledge of Tibetan breath yoga worldwide with great warmth, humor, and wisdom. He combines the practice of Tibetan yoga with Indian Hatha yoga. With practical tips and exercises, he shows us how we can improve our health and well-being.
