Idyllic bathing bays & public bathing spots at Schluchsee The Kaiserbucht and Amalienbucht beaches
Unlike Lake Titisee, Lake Schluchsee has freely accessible shores almost everywhere, which are popular with bathers seeking refreshment in summer. The circular trail allows you to easily reach remote bathing spots on Schluchsee by bike or on foot that are not accessible by car, e.g., the large Kaiserbucht bay opposite the village of Schluchsee, which boasts a large pebble beach.
There are also beautiful places for swimming at Schluchsee, including Wolfsgrund in an inner bay with a view of the railway bridge. Due to its exposed location and shallower waters, the water here warms up faster. Adventurous types in particular use the footbridge to jump into the lake.
Another beautiful swimming spot on Schluchsee is located at the Amalienruh viewpoint. Here there is a sunbathing lawn with benches and steps leading down to the lake. Nearby, at the youth hostel, is the Rafftaff SUP and canoe rental. Here you can not only rent various boards and boats, but also book courses or a trip on a sailing ship.
Both swimming spots can be reached via the Wolfsgrund hiking car park or the car parks along the street "Im Wolfsgrund." It is a pleasant walk of about 20 minutes from your vacation hotel in the Black Forest.
