1. Hot water:
Fluids are important for stimulating the digestive system and cleansing the body of waste products. Hot water also provides warmth, which is beneficial for the digestive process. So make
it part of your morning ritual to start the day with a cup of hot water—with ginger if you like. It is advisable to drink small amounts throughout the day.
2. Diet:
Light fasting is very effective for recurring infections. This means eating a light dinner without a lot of protein or dairy products. Vegetable soups, on the other hand, are beneficial. In general, meals should be eaten warm and cooling foods such as ice cream, raw vegetables, bananas, oats, cucumbers, etc. should be avoided. As a general rule, less is more. Eating quickly and heavily, as well as eating too much, puts strain on the digestive system. This consequently requires more energy and has little strength left to form ojas.
3. Golden milk and spices
Dairy products should be avoided in the evening. However, warm, cooled milk with honey, turmeric, and ginger (golden milk) helps with colds and mucus.
Natural, tasty spices contain secondary plant substances that stimulate the activity of the digestive organs. As a result, the digestive organs can also extract important vital substances more effectively.
Tips:
Consume honey and hot spices such as ginger, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, cardamom, cloves, and cinnamon in food or as tea.
Avoid pasta and wheat bread; instead, eat basmati rice, millet, and quinoa.
Eat plenty of fresh herbs and vegetables.
Consume mainly warm drinks and warm foods.
Peppermint or coriander tea can help with summer flu
4. External application:
Salt water inhalation
Rubbing sesame oil on the chest combined with warmth
Wear warm clothing. Remember to wear a hat, especially in the cold season, as a lot of heat can be lost through the head.
5. Exercise:
Exercise is important for distributing vital substances and the inner fire in the body. This is by no means about exhausting yourself. Walking for half an hour to an hour or similar gentle sports help you stay healthy in the long term.
6. Rest & sleep:
Stress has a negative effect on the immune system. It is therefore important to incorporate periods of rest into your daily routine and to get enough sleep.
