Family vacations can often be difficult because parents and children have different needs on vacation and everyone is afraid that their own wishes will be neglected. There is a separate program for each age group: children aged 3 to 6 are well looked after in the Spatzenclub, where they can paint, do crafts, sing, and play. For kids aged 7 to 12, there is plenty of action, exercise, and outdoor adventures. Teens aged 13 to 15 prefer to chill out together and do whatever they feel like doing.

There is also a large play area with a giant dog that children can tumble out of its mouth, a bouncy castle, a trampoline, and various vehicles. Or the sports hall with a bouldering wall, table tennis, and sports equipment. Here, kids can romp, climb, and play to their hearts' content.

In principle, floating in the pool or sweating in the sauna with the family can also be a wonderful experience for children. However, there are a few rules to follow, because a wellness area is not a playground. It is more about enjoying yourself and relaxing than letting off steam. That's why our wellness hotel in the Black Forest offers a daily "splash hour" during the holidays, when children are allowed to splash around in the large indoor pool. Otherwise, the children's pool with its slide and fun water pump is the first and best place for young sea dogs. The whirlpool – attractive at first glance because it is sooo nice and warm and bubbly – is nevertheless only recommended for children aged 14 and over.

The sauna is less problematic. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the whole family can enjoy the sauna. It's nice and warm here too. And to make sure it doesn't get too hot, children are best seated at the bottom. They still have to lie on a towel and take their clothes off! At some point, children don't like that anymore. A sense of modesty develops more and more during puberty, and it's not a good idea to provoke that. Young people aged 16 and over are allowed to use the sauna on their own. It's different with a boyfriend or girlfriend... The relaxation gallery (which should really be called a "quiet oasis") is also cozy and warm. With a good book or audiobook, for many it is the most beautiful place in the wellness hotel for children in the Black Forest.
